The Middle Ages
A dark and turbulant time!
There are some slight variations to the timeline of the middle ages. Give or take a few decades. Those who lived during that time didn't know them as the middle ages. For them, it was just an age of turbulance and trials, for us it started around 1066 A.D. A bloodthirsty period in European history and one that for centuries after was referred to as the dark ages. The "dark ages" however, refer not only to the middle ages but the early years of tyrannical rulers across Europe starting as early as 300 A.D. and lasting into the 1500's
Yet out of those dark times was born an age of reminiscence - a time of reflection to what was good and noble and true. Knights of incredible daring and strength whose tales were born, the legends of today and the heroes of tommorrow - the Renaissance!
Qualities that were summoned to carry on throughout time were born during the middle ages. And although there were many terrible things that happened, the words of the few and the noble and the strong of heart still ring true today. These words may not be the exact words or oaths of a knight - but a Knight or a Paladin swore himself to virtues higher them himself and instill upon the hearts of everyone hear - noble truths and a desire to stand for what is right and just and pure.

His might upholds the weak
His word speaks only truth
His wrath undoes the wicked
The right can never die
If one man still recalls
The words are not forgotten
If one voice speaks them clear
The code forever shines,
If one heart holds it bright.
