Hey guys Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. How about getting her something different? Instead of getting her the traditional roses that will die in a week or so, why not get her manacles with roses on them. They are guaranteed to last a lifetime and from personal experience, they will bring pleasure to both of you. Just give us a call to choose the color of leather and fur.
Whatever you decide, enjoy yourselves and let each other know just how much you care.

Not far from my backdoor is the Beautiful Lake Erie!
Well Dennis made it back safe and sound! He’ll stay here in Ohio for a little while then he’ll be heading back to Florida to do the Bay Area Renaissance Festival in Tampa. We are really looking forward to doing this event. It’ll be our first time there. In previous years it conflicted with other faires we were doing.
It was funny, the last week Dennis was in Florida (Gainesville), it was 22 degrees here in Ohio and he was only 17 degrees in Florida. Unfortunately, no one planned for cold weather figuring he was in sunny Florida. Oops!
The kids were thrilled to have him back no matter how long it’s for. They are great kids as many of you know from experience.
Stop in and see Dennis at the Bay Area Renaissance Festival. It will start on February 21, 2009. Hope to see you there.
P.S. Don’t forget to keep checking our Renaissance Events Schedule to see which faires we will be attending so you can stop by and visit. We would love to see you!

Well the kids had a snow day today so we did what every good, old-fashioned, all American family does. We built a snowman. Triston and I built the snowman, Ginneva doesn’t like the cold, and Dennis is still in Florida. He’s in Gainesville now, his home away from home. He loves it there, but he sure is missing his family and we sure are missing him. We talk all the time but it’s not the same. Hugs and kisses are hard over the phone. But Hoggetowne Medieval Faire is one of his favorites. Linda Piper is the best. She makes sure visiting vendors have everything they need to know about the area. Go Linda! Dennis just loves seeing old friends and eating oysters at Calico Jack’s and barbecue at Sonny’s.

A big THANK YOU to the lovely Bridgette, who I met on January 22nd here in Gainesville, FL. A fellow vendor and friend of mine, (Johnny B) who knowing of my need for some help during the Gainesville show, sent her my way as shop help!! Bridgette fit in seamlessly and kept things rolling along quite well. Bridgette is a business owner herself as she is artist/owner of The Scarlett Rose, and since she had some open time in between heading south to the Florida Renaissance Festival she came to work for Regal Boots and we were most pleased to have her!

I want to give a big shout out to Hoppy, from Leigh High Acres, Florida, for making us this absolutely beautiful sign. He made it so we’d always remember him even after he’s gone. As if anyone could forget someone with such a big, giving heart.
Hoppy has given his life for our country. He fought in the Vietnam War where he contracted Asian Orange. We don’t know how long he’ll be here on earth, but he will always be in our hearts.
We are so fortunate to meet wonderful people like Hoppy in our travels and to call them FRIEND!
Please take a moment of thanks for Hoppy and others like him who protect us. And may the Gods watch over and protect them.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN!
Well Dennis is on the road again, on his way to a renaissance fair in Ft. Myers, and then the medieval faire in Hoggetowne, Florida. He got a late start. There was so much work to be done on the trailer. It took us 2 full days to clean it. Plus we weren’t expecting the trailer to be in Ohio last month so we hadn’t winterized it, so of course, the pipes froze. But Dennis being the handyman he is, fixed everything. Now it looks almost as good as he does.
Keith and Gabby, friends of ours from California, will be in the booth with Dennis (who is sporting a new look) so stop in and say “hi”. They are great people.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! Wishing all of you a wonderful, healthy, and prosperous year in 2009.
Well we had an interesting end of 2008. Just to keep you all up to date, we had some people working for us but it didn’t work out so Dennis is going back out on the road till he can find replacements, so he went down to Florida (in my little car because his truck was totaled by a train – will explain later) to do the Pirates in Paradise event. We love that event. It’s small but probably the most authentic we’ve seen. It’s at Ft. Taylor in Key West Florida. Well anyway Dennis had a blast there, made new friends and won an award for being such a wonderful vendor. I’m so proud of him.
Now to explain the truck, Dennis and Triston were hunting and the truck was parked by the tracks when another hunter wanted to get by, so Dennis did the backup, go forward, backup thing to turn around and get out of his way and on one of the backups the trailer hitch got stuck on the track. They called 911 to let them know the situation and to also let them know that the truck was empty. They tried everything to get the truck off the track but according to the police it takes 2 miles to stop a train and they only had 1-1/2 miles so BAM!! Triston said it was lifted several feet in the air. I thought things like this only happened in the movies but surprisingly it happens quite often. Nobody was hurt, but the train driver was shaken up. 911 forgot to tell the train conductor that the truck was empty so the poor guy thought he killed someone. They had to take that driver off the train and put a new one on since he was so shaken.

The Move
Sorry we have been away for so long. We are almost settled into our new home (we only have a couple of dozen of boxes to finish). We recently moved to Ashtabula, Ohio (Dennis is originally from Pennsylvania) where we have a 3 bedroom house. It’s beautiful with hard wood floors with a 2 car garage (currently being used as our shop and brewery).
The kids are loving their new schools, are getting good grades, making friends and enjoying the changing seasons. School was canceled today due to snow, so they stayed home and Triston went deer hunting with Dennis.
The dogs are having a ball playing in our big back yard. They are even having fun in the snow. They look so cute in their winter coats.
We have a couple of new people working for us named Shawn and Sarah. You may see them at some of the fairs. Shawn has leather experience and Sarah has a sales background. He’s t all with dark hair and a beard. She is short, blonde and bubbly.
Stop in and say “hi” if you see them.
That is all for now – until next time – Have a very Merry Christmas!

Koronaburg Old World Festival
Corona, CA. May 10th – June 15, 2008

Yes it was an exciting weekend. Saturday, there were too fires in the nearby lots (not on site). CDF saved the day – I had never seen the planes drop on a fire before. We forgot a couple of boxes in Las Vegas, so Steven and Erich drove to Barstow with the boxes and I met them there to get them. Saturday was also a late night faire and those are always fun. Sunday was relatively slow (probably because the police incorrectly told everyone Saturday that we would be closed all weekend). Saw some of our friends and I got an early mother’s day gift from Tina from Hush Parties. Let’s put it this way, I’ll fit in better at the Palm Springs Festival next year. Thank you Tina!!
There were lots of new babies there this weekend. So cute and adorable. I just love chipmunk cheeks and toes.
Our friend Coy was too ill to come to faire, but he’s doing better now. Dennis got sick just after faire, and then I got sick too. At first I thought it was allergies but since we both got sick I realized it was more. Still can’t breathe through my nose but I am feeling better.
Dennis and a couple of his friends went to Lake Mead Thursday and Friday to have a couple of days off and relax. Storing up for the upcoming events such as Koronaburg.

Fingers and Cat came to play. They had bought me the Nightmare Before Christmas Uno game for my birthday, and then while at the fair I saw a goblet I loved from Fellowship Foundry so they and my other adopted son chipped in a got that for me too. It made me cry with joy for the love!! Thank you guys it means sooooo much!!!!
