- Dennis “Magic” Miller ~ Leather Artiste Extraordinaire
Through rain, sleet, or snow Regal Boots delivers.. Okay okay.. So there was NO sleet and NO snow at The King Richard’s Faire for the 2009 Season. BUT, the rain certainly did come down in a valiant, but vain attempt to defray attendance at the King Richards Fare, and similar to the United States Postal workers’ mantra…. We did deliver… What’s that you ask? What could one deliver through the pouring rains that did batter the east coast these past few weeks?? FUN.. fun and GREAT LEATHER PRODUCTS! We don’t need no stinkin sunshine! We made our own!
This was our first year participating as vendors at King Richard’s Faire. We have enjoyed our time vending here in Carver, Massachusetts, though we were the “Mobile Merchants” for a while, as our spot seemed to be in flux! Aimee (what a Goddess) persevered and did work tirelessly to get our product and us in a prime spot, so that we would have the visibility we had been assured of, she was a champ!
We sold the gorgeous Red and Black Lady’s Baldric to the below lovely, titian haired Amanda, and her husband Ralph purchased a fabulous brown and black Baldric. This couple is the first to walk out of our booth with Baldrics that did not need to be customized! How lucky is that? It was as if the Baldrics had been made just for these two people! Amazing!

Amanda and Ralph
We are home bound now and are going to be preparing for the Lady of the Lakes show in Florida!

The Great Lakes Medieval Faire 2009

Once upon a time when the Romans ruled the world, one man traveled to the Emerald Isle,
where he found an Irish Girl… Or at least this is how we believe it started.
THE GREAT LAKES MEDIEVAL FAIRE started off on a rather wet note and due to the weather, attendance was smaller than last year. But, we have to say that those die hard patrons who came out rain or shine were indeed the cream of the crop! These hardy folk were the people who REALLY wanted to be there, to see and be seen! The Great Lakes show runs for six weekends and though the rain was our constant companion for most of those weekends this faire still remains one our very favorites!
One rainy day we decided to kill a little time as we had some to spare the second weekend and we met a lovely lady who ran a photo booth, yet it was not your average photo session that she offered.. Oh no! No geese formation poses here! Gina, of Fantasy Photos took the ABSOLUTELY stunning photos of us, featured above. What a beautiful way to spend a little time… We will have a link soon to her website so that those of you who like this photo and want one taken of you ~ can see when she will be at a show near you!

THE GORGEOUS ROSE FLOGGER!
Don’t forget to check out our new styles for our Baldrics at the King Richard’s Faire, as well as our gorgeous manacles made out of snakeskin and last but certainly not least, the one of a kind Rose Flogger featured to the right… WOW!

From the state of Oklahoma to the state of Virginia did we travel! We went all the way to Spotsylvania, Virginia to vend for the first time at the Virginia Renaissance Festival. The show ran from May 16th to June 14th, located at the lovely Lady Anna Winery.

Dennis & Bridgette at The VA. Renaissance Festival 2009
It was our first foray into Virginia for a Renaissance festival! Though it is a small show the staff works tirelessly to promote the event and engender growth each season.
The weather was beautiful most days and people were friendly. We met and made many new friends and loved our neighbor vendors “The Brazen Lady” and Dave of “Dave’s Roses and Games” which made our weekends a joy.

Check out this handsome pirate pictured to the left, who bought one of our Baldricks!

The 33rd Annual Medieval Fair of Norman was a smashing success. We had guests from all over the United States stop by our booth this year.
We had a family we knew from Las Vegas there who had recently moved to Oklahoma City. On Saturday – the hottest day of the renaissance fair – they stopped by our tent all dressed up and ready for extreme fun.

Warriors of Norman Medieval Fair in Oklahoma City, 2009
There were people in Pirate regalia, Knights and Paladins, faire maidens and some not-so-faire. One gentleman’s costume was so good I thought that the actor who played Gandolf from Lord of the Rings had shown up for a special appearance.

Stud #1

Stud #2
Check out these studs. It was the Miller boys together once again. Stud #1 is Gary Miller and Stud #2 is Eddie Miller. These are Dennis’ cousins who came to Tampa to help set up for the Bay Area Renaissance Festival. I’m asking you, could you work with three such handsome men around? I think I’d just sit back and watch the muscles flex.
Although Dennis hasn’t said anything yet, I’m sure they will be up to no good together. I’m sure the women will flock to them, I know I would. Yummy! There will be outrageous flirting of course, these men after all are Italian, and if Gary and Eddie are anything like Dennis, there will be fun and bawdy repartee to be had by all at Regal Boots! So, stop by the newly set up booth and give them a hug! They’ll eat it up, and you’ll have the time of your life. There is nothing like the Miller’s together. It’s MAGIC!!

Massy
Chance
As many of you know we have a dog named Chance. He is an adorable morkie. His Dam is a maltese and his Sire is a yorkie. Hence the name morkie.
Well Dennis, who is currently in Gainesville, Florida, was shopping at one of his favorite stores (the man store that sells tools, hardware, etc) and he looks over and sees Chance but it’s really not Chance since he’s still in Ohio with us. It turns out to be his doppelganger. Well kinda, it’s a girl dog that looks just like him. Her name is Massy and she’s very beautiful (and of course thinner than Chance). Her face is a little darker but she even has Chance’s famous ears. Take a look and let me know what you think.

The Happy Couple
Well Congratulations Nicky and Carlo.
He popped the questions and she said yes!
Let’s wish them the best of luck in all they have ahead of them. I know they were planning on getting hand-fasted this year but now…I’m not sure if they will still do the hand-fasting first and then get married or if they will just get married. I’ve not been informed of the date yet and I don’t know if it’ll be a Rennie event or not. Hey they just decided to do it. I figure I’ll give them some time to figure out the details and then I’ll let you all know too.
Again, we wish you all the happiness you so deserve. Love you lots.
